BW001 – On Podcasting
Podcast technology makes it easy for anyone to have their own online “radio show” with a potentially world-wide audience. It is the modern digital equivalent of sitting around a campfire and telling stories. In this podcast I describe how I first heard of podcasting, explain what podcasting is, and tell the listener what tools I used to create the podcast.
This first BrainWave podcast was recorded in June, 2005 and was downloadable directly, or through an RSS feed, from the blog, “A Librarian’s Journal.”
The BrainWave podcast has now moved to this blog and more shows will be forthcoming. You can listen to this show here (left click to listen, right click to download). If you are using a podcatcher (see below) I encourage you to subscribe to the RSS feed here so you can receive future shows. The script for this show is available in Microsoft Word 2003 format here.
Podcatcher software:
Software mentioned in the podcast:
- Audacity A free, cross-platform audio recorder and editor
- Sony Acid Music Studio A “loop-based” music creation tool
- Computer Music Studio (on the CD when you buy Computer Music magazine)
